(Book #2)
Rose and Garth Bibby grow mostly grass and cattle on their place near Westlock, Alberta. Their three daughters grown, Rose has turned to her poetry - venturing into publishing and live performances. Much of her material is gleaned from the work, worries, and wonders of farming and raising a family. Garth allows that his personality and vocabulary are often the key to a classic and support Rose's ramblings.
(Book #3)
When Rose Bibby decided to publish a book of poetry in 1991, she had no idea where the venture would lead - it has truely been an "adventure". She has since become so very popular. Rose writes about the "country condition", the rural coupletoiling side by side, doing what it takes to keep the place and the partnership working. She presents her material in public appearances adding her personal touch to hese "stories in rhyme". But the adventure didn't stop there. Her husband Garth, (Old Hayshaker) always an integral part of the stories, became a part of the story-telling team, and now gets to tell is side of it. They have been a lot of miles and shared a lot of smile in this adventure, even putting some of the poetry on cassette tapes so that people can enjoy it the way it should be told. Rose says, "It's great fun, and and we've discovered that there are wonderful people wherever you go, but all this travelling has come back home -- back to the community and roots that give up direction and most of all all -- back to our material source - Rosebriar Ranch."
